Mary Powers is President of MPowers Communications, a consulting firm specializing in international communications and brand management in the media industry. Mary spent most of her career with CHUM Limited, where she directed all communications, corporate branding and investor relations for the publicly traded company. She then became SVP Corporate Communications for CTVglobemedia (now Bell Media), prior to launching her own company. Active in numerous industry associations, she is a board member of the Rogers Documentary and Cable Network Fund, past board member of Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television and Past Chair of both the Banff World Media Festival and the international content marketing association Promax.
Stephan Petar brings his sociological background to the marbleLIVE team, aiding in the organization of the company's community initiatives, by setting up advisory panels and brainstorming sessions with various partners. He also assists in the communications for marbleLIVE working with partners to coordinate releases
At marblemedia he handles the planning and execution of marketing and publicity initiatives for marblemedia (corporate, television and interactive) and Distribution360 including: promotional materials, publicity and social media.
A Summa Cum Laude graduate of York University’s Communication and Sociology Programs, Stephan specialized in new media and youth culture. He is also the creator of the Ninjamatics’ Canadian Weblog Awards nominated Why I Love Toronto. He has contributed to the University of Toronto’s newspaper The Varsity and has been published in multiple anthologies. He has also aids up-and-coming bloggers with their publicity initiatives.
MOLLY RAY - Maternity Leave
As Director of Marketing and Communications for marblemedia, Molly Ray handles all trade and consumer publicity and marketing initiatives. An award-winning publicist, Molly, has been working for almost a decade engaging audiences in a behind-the-scenes look at Canada’s film and television industry.
Through her relationships with well-known writers and media personalities, Molly has helped bring compelling stories to life for thousands of fans hungry for access to the stars of their favourite shows. At Corus Entertainment, Molly oversaw the communications efforts for four television networks as well as Nelvana Studio, a worldwide producer of kids’ programming including well known brands such as Babar.
Molly got her start in the entertainment business at Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting where she worked on the Canadian Marketing and Communications initiatives for shows including Trailer Park Boys, Queer as Folk and HBO hit series such as Six Feet Under and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Molly is also the producer of Rewind, a short film picked up by CBC. Known for her sense of fun and adventure as well as her love of travel, fine food, art, design and skiing, Molly lives in Toronto with her husband and son.
